How We Use a Manometer to Accurately Measure the Air Pressure Inside an Inflatable

Safety is the most important thing when it comes to the commercial inflatable you rent from us. We all know that you should never skip checking the pressure in your car or van's tyres. In the same way, we can use a manometer or Magnehelic pressure to figure out how much air is in an inflatable object by carefully following the steps in this article....

1) We have a manometer or a differential pressure gauge, like a Magnehelic pressure gauge, that we can use to do this job. These measuring tools can be used to calculate the static pressure in water gauges. The static pressure reading for each inflatable will be different, depending on things like its size, age, blowers, power source, and whether or not extension cables are being used.

2) We blow up your inflatable to its fullest size and then double check that all drain valves and zippers on the bottom are closed tightly. We take care to make sure that the blower is the right size for the inflatable and that the power supply is enough for the blowers.

3) We unzip one of the deflation zippers just enough to make room in the inflatable for the tube. We make sure that both the vinyl flap and the zipper are as securely closed as possible. Then we can choose whether to use a manometer or a Magnehelic pressure gauge.

4) We write the number down in our maintenance log and look at it in light of the manufacturer's guidelines for the minimum static pressure.

5) We will also need to check the CFM (cubic feet per minute) rating of the blower that is being used to make sure you are getting enough output. If the CFM number from the blowers is correct but the static pressure gauge shows a low number, there may be a problem with the stitching. Air can get out through flaps or zippers, tears or holes, or stitching that has stretched out over time and now lets more air out. Before you use the inflatable again, you should make sure that the problem has been fixed.

Thanks for reading, and you can rest assured that these checks are done to make the inflatable more fun and safer for the people who use it.
